One of the Easiest Stretches to Help Sciatic Pain

We’re going to show you one of the easiest stretches to help sciatic pain, so that you can move easier and get back to doing the things that you love.

So this is the easiest stretch to help with sciatic pain. So, sitting nice and comfortably feet on the floor. All you’re going to do is if this is the side that’s giving you trouble, the left side, what you’re going to do is you’re going to pick up your left ankle onto your knee and then you’re going to start to feel a little bit of a stretch here in the buttock area. And you may be in a lot of pain with the sciatic nerve pain but as you come forward, what’s going to happen is you’re going to start to stretch the muscle that could well be causing entrapment issues.

Woman with back pain. With that sighting so you kind of lean up and over the knee. I’m not leaning on the knee, I’m going over the knee and as I lean forward I can start to feel a stretch in my own, piriformis muscle, which is the glute muscle at the back. This is the one that we need to stretch.

So this is what it looks like from the side. Really simple, ankle on the knee. I’m leaning up and over, so I’m leaning up and over, I’m feeling that pull right here. So I’m feeling that pull, that’s a really nice pull.

So that is where I want to feel the muscle stretch and relax because now it’s adhered, so it’s kind of scar tissue there in the muscle. So we need to get that stretching.
